I had the opportunity to speak to residents who wanted to know about me and my platform as a Mayoral candidate. One question that I’ve been asked was why I wasn’t endorsed by Avondale police and fire associations, and I’d like to address that today. 

Unfortunately, neither association had any due diligence or interview process. In communicating with both associations, they responded that my opponent had asked first. However, both associations noted that I have always supported them as my voting record reflects consistent commitment to public safety. 

While, I had hoped that both associations would remain neutral, as both of us mayoral candidates are current council members, and such involvement could potentially affect our relations.

Additionally, I did not ask any council members who will remain on council after the election for their endorsements to avoid impacting our future working relationships. I am careful and considerate and will never put people in that type of position. 

Regardless, my family and I remain strong supporters of our police and fire services, and this will not change after I win the election. We value the crucial role these brave men and women play in our community and will continue to advocate for them.
